After winning just three of their first nine matches, Delhi Daredevils will have to win all their remaining five games if they want to remain in contention for a place in the playoffs. With such a big task on their hands, the Shreyas Iyer-led outfit will travel to Hyderabad to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on 5th May.

In spite of winning their last match against the Royals, Delhi might make a change to the playing XI to bolster the squad

Let us take a look at how Delhi will line up against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Openers

Ever since Prithvi Shaw was first given a chance in the IPL, he has impressed everyone with his batting and in the four innings he has played so far, he has looked like he belongs at this level. Prithvi is likely to play all of Delhi's remaining matches this season unless he is sidelined by an injury.

His opening partner Colin Munro has been struggling for form and the Kiwi opener is due a big knock. The team management should back him and give him one or two chances before taking the call to axe him from the side.

Middle order

Shreyas Iyer is having a memorable season, scoring runs with the bat on a consistent basis and also taking over the captaincy from Gautam Gambhir. Shreyas will hope that his season gets better as he looks to lead his side to the playoffs.

Rishabh Pant is setting the 2018 IPL on fire with his aggressive batting. The wicketkeeper-batsman will look to continue the good woek and not only take his team to the playoffs but also earn a spot in the Indian side for the upcoming tours.

Just like Colin Munro, Glenn Maxwell is struggling in this IPL. Maxwell is the kind of player that can't be kept quiet for a long time and coach Ricky Ponting will expect his fellow Aussie to come good and bolster Delhi's chances this season.

All-rounders

All-rounder Vijay Shankar has been at the receiving end of a lot of criticism ever since the Nidahas Trophy final and the same continued in the IPL as well when he struggled to score runs early on in the season. In the last couple of matches though he has shown what he is capable of with the bat, scoring a quick-fire 50 against his former side Chennai Super Kings followed by a cameo against Rajasthan Royals. He will look to continue his form in the upcoming matches as well.

Rahul Tewatia is another player who has been consistently doing well for Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL. The all-rounder had been contributing well with both bat and ball before being dropped for Shahbaz Nadeem. Tewatia is expected to make it to the playing XI in place of Nadeem, who has been average in the ongoing IPL season.

Spinner

Amit Mishra has been an integral part of the Delhi Daredevils unit for a while now. Making a come back after being dropped from the side, Mishra has stepped up and shown what he is capable of. He can contribute more though and Delhi will expect their champion spinner to come good against the Sunrisers.

Fast bowlers

Liam Plunkett, who came in as a replacement for the injured Kagiso Rabada, made his IPL debut against Kings XI Punjab and had a huge impact in the game. Since then, he has been off-colour with the ball but in all likelihood, he is expected to get a few more chances before facing the axe.

Trent Boult is the Orange Cap holder in the 2018 IPL and will look to do what he has been doing the past few days.

Ever since making his debut for Delhi Daredevils, Avesh Khan has been quite impressive, going for runs in just one match when Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler sent all the Delhi bowlers on a leather hunt. Avesh will retain his place in the side and look to give his team a good start with the ball against a fragile Sunrisers batting order.
