There was much hype around this talented youngster from the Carribean even before the IPL auctions. Shimron Hetmyer was touted as the player for the future, and one to watch out for after a great debut series against India late last year.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had faith in him and was bought at a hefty price at the auction. But in the 3 games that the Bangalore played so far, he has been highly disappointing, aggregating just 15 runs in 4 games and was subsequently dropped.

The Virat Kohli led side is languishing at the bottom of the table with 5 defeats in as many matches, and Shimron failed to score any significant runs. This is a long tournament, and one can hope he gets a few more chances to shine. But that looks a long way away for the young West Indian with the arrival of Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Coulter-Nile.
