Chepauk hosted the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the IPL 2019 on Tuesday. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was back as captain as Williamson had to fly back to New Zealand. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the toss and asked the Hyderabad team to bat first. Warner and Bairstow came out to bat together, in Bairstow's last match of this season. Harbhajan Singh, who was brought into the team as usual for the Chepauk encounter, removed Bairstow in his very first over. Warner then went on to score his 5th consecutive half century in this season. At the other end, Manish Pandey seemed to be in sublime form as he scored an unbeaten 83 and SRH posted a total of 175.

Watson and Faf Du Plessis came out to open the batting for Chennai. Much like their opponents, this pair too was broken very early on in the innings. Watson played a match-winning knock of 96 and took Chennai home with a ball to spare.

Points Table

Only a day after Delhi had climbed up to the top spot of the Points Table, Chennai claimed the top spot back with this win. They are at 16 points now from their 11 games with one foot on the playoffs door.

Sunrisers, on the other hand, stay at No. 4 with 10 points from 10 matches and an excellent NRR of +0.654.

Purple Cap

Much like the Orange Cap, the Purple Cap list also has not seen too much of a change as Rabada is still at the top with 23 wickets. He is followed by the two CSK wicket-takers Imran Tahir and Deepak Chahar with 16 and 14 wickets respectively. Sandeep Sharma and Harbhajan Singh climbed up to the 12th and 13th spots after their performance in yesterday's match.
