#2 Inability to take wickets
The match witnessed the highest opening partnership by any pair in the entire history of IPL. The previous record stood at an incredible total of 184* by Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn on 7th April 2017.
The duo of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow put on a 185-run partnership for the opening stand. Though they played really well, RCB bowlers failed to hit the right areas with the ball.
The main reason being their inability to bowl wicket-taking deliveries in the early stages of the match. Warner and Bairstow added 59 runs in the power play overs and never slowed down after that.
Umesh Yadav was brilliant with the new ball last season but he has struggled so far this campaign. Chahal seems to be the only bowler who is looking in a good rhythm. RCB need to bring in Tim Southee to add some spice to their bowling attack.
