IPL 2019: Three records established by the Warner-Bairstow partnership

#3 First time in the history of IPL when both openers scored a century in the same match

Warner and Bairstow celebrate their centuries.

Only two times in the history of IPL have two players scored a century in the same innings, with Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers being the first duo to do so. Warner and Bairstow became the first opening pair and second overall to score a century each in the IPL.

Jonny Bairstow played the leading role, scoring a 56-ball-114. When he departed, Warner, who was batting on 70(42) then took the charge and scored his next 30 runs in just 13 balls to bring up his ton. They together smashed 17 fours and 12 sixes.

Meanwhile, Bairstow established another feat. He became the joint second fastest (along with Andrew Symonds) to bring up his maiden IPL innings. He took just 3 innings to do so. The first 2 were Brendon McCullum and Micheal Hussey, who did it in their 1st innings
