The 12th edition of Indian Premier League ended with Mumbai Indians lifting the trophy for the 4th time. This edition was a fantastic one for the cricket universe in terms of excitement, thrill and spirit. Fans gathered in large numbers to support their home franchise which added more beauty to the tournament.

Ultimately, out of the 8 teams battling against each other, Mumbai Indians emerged out to be the best as the side lifted their 4th IPL title in the last 7 years. The side had star players like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard, who played a huge role in the team’s success.

However, there were few players who caught the eyes of the entire world because of their extraordinary performances throughout the season. Their top-class form was a matter of pride for their side as it helped them a lot. All the players tried their best to showcase their talent in this cash-rich league.

#9 MS Dhoni (Best Batting Average)

Chennai and Mumbai were the 2 teams which qualified for the finals of IPL 2019 which ended in Mumbai’s favour. MS Dhoni was the main man leading from the front for Chennai Super Kings as he tried his best to save his team‘s season. This time we saw a different MSD when he came to bat, as he played fearlessly.

Dhoni proved that age is just a number by smashing huge sixes out of the park. He batted with an average of 83.20 which led to his total score of 416 runs from 15 matches.

Though he got the chance to bat in just 12 matches only, he still scored the most number of runs for his side.

#8 Stuart Binny (Most Economical bowler)

Rajasthan Royals once again did not have a good IPL season as they did not make it to the play-offs. The side failed in converting their good starts and they finished 7th on the points table with just 5 wins out of 14 matches. The side did not seem to be a stable one as they changed their captain twice throughout the tournament.

Individually, few players like Jos Buttler, Stuart Binny had a very promising season as compared to the previous ones. Stuart Binny proved to be the most economical bowler for their side and of the whole tournament as well.

He bowled with the economy of just 6.28 runs throughout the season which helped him top the table. The second best bowler, Rashid Khan also had the same economy but conceded more runs than him.

#7 Shikhar Dhawan (Most Fours)

Delhi Capitals was the one side which stunned the entire world in IPL 2019. The side ended the tournament as the third best team with 9 wins out of 14 matches and shook the entire world. The credit of it must go to the whole franchise as they played like a 1 unit by believing in their strengths.

The inclusion of Shikhar Dhawan in the side in 2019 turned the tables in Delhi’s favour. Dhawan led the team from the front with his consistent form. The local boy from Delhi scored the total of 521 runs from 16 matches which included 64 fours throughout the season. He emerged out as the batsman with most fours in the tournament as Warner took the second place with 57 fours.

Delhi Capitals’s had a superb IPL season in 2019 with all of their players performing their best. All the players played up to their responsibility which took the side to the top 3 of the points table. The side can win next year’s IPL if all the players carry their current form.

Rishabh Pant proved to be the main cornerstone for the Delhi side as he contributed in all the fields. Pant once again showcased his hard-hitting skills as he played with a different approach in IPL 2019. However, he also improved his wicket-keeping skills which reflected in his statistics.

Pant involved himself in 24 dismissals which included 18 catches, 2 run-outs and 6 stumpings. He proved why he deserves to be wicket-keeper of the Indian side after MS Dhoni.

The opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner stole the show in Indian Premier League 2019 with their fabulous batting skills. The pair dismantled the bowling unit of each and every team with their high wrist power throughout the season. Both of them scored a century in the same match which pleased the fans of the Orange Army.

Bairstow didn’t play the whole edition pertaining to his national duties but still won the hearts of the whole cricketing world. He played a brilliant innings of 114 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore to establish himself as a match-winner for SRH. Both the opening batsmen scored a century against RCB and built a 185 runs stand between them.

Bairstow emerged out as the highest individual run-scorer of this season as the 2nd highest score was 105 runs by Ajinkya Rahane.

Mumbai Indians have always had a star-studded line-up in all the IPL seasons. This side has always got the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and many more which has kept their head high. Apart from this, the franchise is also famous for giving chances to newcomers which have benefitted them a lot.

Alzarri Joseph was one of those newcomers of IPL 2019 who completely changed the fate of his side. Joseph proved to be the best bowler for Mumbai Indians during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he completely outwitted the likes of David Warner.

Alzarri bowled a mind-shattering spell of 6 wickets for just 12 runs in that match which even included some big names. No other bowler could even come near to him as he was the only bowler to bag a five-wicket haul in IPL 2019.

The one man who took the 12th edition of Indian Premier League to the next level was none other than the Caribbean star, Andre Russell. Russell with his giant muscular power stole the show in IPL 2019. His aggressive batting style was just a precious moment to witness for the entire world.

His fearless batting approach kept KKR in the tournament even till the last moment and helped in raising the excitement bar. Despite having an injury, he was trying to hit every ball out of the park to entertain the fans.

He smashed the total of 510 runs from 14 matches with a fearless strike rate of 204.81. His contribution to the side was much worthy. He won the title of most valuable player of the tournament.

#2 Imran Tahir (Highest Wicket Taker)

Chennai Super Kings has always believed in experience rather than going for the young talent which has helped the side win trophies. That is the main reason behind its consistency as the side is filled with top class players who know how to deal with the situation. The credit of it must go to the living legend, MS Dhoni as he has the belief in his side.

Imran Tahir was the guy who had performed well when his team required him the most in IPL 2019. He used his experience to outwit even the strongest batsman in the world and this was his main strength.

He proved to be the main bowler for CSK throughout the season with his majestic wrist spin. Tahir bagged 26 wickets 17 matches which were the highest amongst all.

David Warner pleased the world with his form after making a return to IPL in 2019. The Orange Army retained Warner as they had full faith in him, and it did not go in vain.

Warner topped the leaderboard of the highest run scorer with 696 runs in just 12 matches. He won the Orange Cap by playing just 12 matches only which showcases his top-class form throughout the season.
