IPL 2020, KXIP vs KKR: KKR Player Ratings

Prasidh Krishna became the third KKR player to impress immediately upon entering the XI.
Prasidh Krishna became the third KKR player to impress immediately upon entering the XI.

Shubman Gill: 8/10

Gill showed incredible maturity to rescue KKR from the doldrums and give them a chance on a difficult surface batting first. His fifty while batting through gave Karthik the perfect platform to tee off. He also held his cool to take a catch that ended a massive opening partnership.

Sunil Narine: 8.5/10

Narine shrugged off a dramatic change in role - from opening batsman two games back to not getting a bat at all - to show why he is so valuable as a T20 player. His four overs were gold dust for KKR, as they denied KXIP at the death and created a win out of nowhere for his team.

Dinesh Karthik: 9/10

Karthik answered all the doubts regarding his batting form in incredible fashion. Taking over from a sedate but sturdy Shubman Gill, he found the gaps and cleared the boundaries with calculated aggression in his 58 off 29. The KKR captain looked close to the form that got him an India recall in all three formats in 2018.

Nitish Rana: 3/10

Rana was unlucky to be run out after a terrible misunderstanding for just 2 off 4 balls, and missed out on another chance to do well for KKR. He did feature with the ball in hand, bowling a lone over which went for just 7 runs.

Eoin Morgan: 6/10

Morgan went in at a difficult time for KKR, and was somewhat successful at steadying the ship. He also struck two fours and a six, but was dismissed before he could make up for the slow start. The Englishman departed for 24 off 23.

Andre Russell: 0.5/10

Russell had the last two overs to go berserk in, but even the best of platforms have not worked this season for him, and he nicked off for just 3 off 5. He piled on disaster after disaster in KXIP's innings on the same ball - dropped a catch he looked in control of, could not stop the boundary, and injured himself in trying to stop the ball. The West Indian did not bowl when he returned to the field, and may be rested for the next game.

Rahul Tripathi: 1/10

Nowhere near his form from the last game, Tripathi looked woefully tied down. Looking to attack Shami, he went for a wild heave, only to get bowled for 4 off 10.

Varun Chakravarthy: 7/10

Chakravarthy seems to be cementing his place in the team, as he played a crucial role in the target defence. Though he could not take a wicket, he bowled out for just 27 runs.

Pat Cummins: 6.5/10

Tasked with picking up early wickets and containing the scoring in the powerplay, Cummins did only the latter, but to good effect. As he went wicketless again, he did ensure his economy rate was low enough to allow the other bowlers to exert pressure.

Prasidh Krishna: 8.5/10

Possibly just as important as Karthik, Prasidh first removed Mayank to give his team an opening and then in a brilliant 19th over, dismissed Prabhsimran and Rahul. Shining in his first game, the pacer may play in place of Nagarkoti in the next game.

Kamlesh Nagarkoti: 1/10

On a day when the KKR bowlers combined in a brilliant team effort, one bowler stuck out like a sore thumb for them - Nagarkoti. Conceding a whopping 40 off his 3 overs, he nearly threw the game away for KKR with a 19-run over that made the equation much simpler for KXIP in the 16th over.
