Siddarth Kaul is a right-arm pacer who hasn't had much IPL game time. However, in the 38 matches he has played, he has evidently done enough. In his four years in the IPL, his performance has propelled him into the Indian team.
In the last couple of years, he has been supporting Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team and has improved his bowling heavily. He is now effective with both the new and old ball, and that is what the Indian selectors must have seen when they called him up.
He is also in the running to be in the flight that carries the Indian team to England, for the big ticket event, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
