Lungi Ngidi IPL Career

Lungi Ngidi is a fast-bowler who represents South Africa across all formats. He was born in Durban on March 29, 1996. Domestically, he plays for Northerns and made his domestic debut for them in the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. He also won the Africa T20 Player of the Year award in 2016. He made his international debut in a T20I contest against Sri Lanka in January 2017.

Ngidi, who was named both Cricket South Africa's ODI and T20I Cricketer of the Year in 2020, made his Test debut against India in January 2018. He went on to make his ODI debut against India in February 2018. He has represented T20 franchise teams like Paarl Royals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) around the world, as of April 2025.

Lungi Ngidi started his IPL career with CSK in 2018 and was with the team till the end of the 2021 season. He then moved to Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2022. After missing the IPL 2023 and IPL 2024 seasons due to a number of injuries, the two-time IPL champion joined RCB in 2025.
