Having made it to the playoffs for the past two seasons, fans were keen to know who would take Kohli's legacy ahead.RCB bagged the services of IPL veteran Faf du Plessis in the IPL 2022 auction. Many felt that the South African or Glenn Maxwell would be the next captain of the Bangalore franchise.Although Maxwell has captained the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, he will not be available for the first few games of the IPL 2022 season due to international commitments.With national duties no longer a hindrance for Du Plessis, it looks to be a sensible decision by the RCB think tank to appoint the 37-year-old as the captain.
