Marcus Stoinis dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 24 runs off 18 balls in LSG vs RR IPL 2024 clash on Saturday.

Marcus Stoinis was delighted as he took a first-ball wicket to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match on Saturday, April 27. Jaiswal departed for 24 runs off 18 balls in the clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Ekana Cricket Stadium

The dismissal came in the seventh over of RR's run chase. Stoinis bowled a full-length ball angled wide outside off. Jaiswal went chasing after the ball but only managed to hit it towards the point from the toe-end of the bat. Ravi Bishnoi, at the deep point, settled under it to complete the catch. Following the wicket, Stoinis came up with a wry smile on his face.

With the wicket, Stoinis bounced back in the match after departing for a duck. Meanwhile, the Royals both their openers in a gap of three balls. Yash Thakur cleaned up Jos Buttler in the previous over.


LSG post 197-run target for RR in IPL 2024 encounter

A clinical batting display from captain KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda helped LSG post 196/5 against RR in IPL on Saturday.

Rahul led from the front, scoring 76 runs off 48 balls in an innings laced with two sixes and eight boundaries. Hooda slammed a quickfire 50 off 31 deliveries with the aid of seven boundaries.

The duo put on a 115-run partnership to rescue LSG from 11/2. Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni and Marcus Stoinis chipped in with unbeaten scores of 18 (13) and 15 (11), respectively. Sandeep Sharma starred with the ball for LSG, returning with figures of 2/31, while Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up one wicket each.

In response, the Royals were 114/3 after 12.4 overs, with captain Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel at the crease. Riyan Parag was the last batter to be dismissed, caught by Ayush Badoni at deep cover off Amit Mishra.

Table-toppers RR have won seven out of eight matches so far. On the other hand, LSG are placed fourth in the IPL 2024 points table with five wins in eight games owing to a lower net run rate. They have equal points with Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
