Playoff
MI, LSG, CSK and GT are the four teams to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have become the fourth team to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs with their eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at home on Sunday, May 21.

MI's qualification was confirmed after Gujarat Titans (GT) beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in IPL 2023’s last group-stage match, ending the latter’s hopes of a playoff berth.

For the uninitiated, GT became the first team to qualify for the knockouts following their 34-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They will now be looking to win a second title on the trot.

Earlier, on Saturday, May 20, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 77 runs to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs too. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) survived a last-over thriller during their one-run win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on the same day.

CSK and LSG qualified with 17 points each in 14 games, but the Super Kings finished second with a better net run rate (NRR).
