The ninth chapter of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place across the Caribbean Islands and in the United States of America (USA) between June 02-29, 2024.
The 20-side showpiece event will see sides get divided into four different groups. Each team will lock horns with the remaining sides of their group once.
The top two sides from each group will qualify for the Super-8 stage, where teams will be divided into two groups of four. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals will take place in Guyana and Trinidad on June 27 while the titular clash will take place at Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29.
T20 World Cup 2024: Oman Squad
Oman will be led by Aqib Sulheri in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The squad consists of experienced names like Kashyap Prajapati (495 runs @ 24/112 since Jan 2023), Naseem Khushi (436 @ 24.22/176.51), Zeeshan Maqsood (335 runs @ 25.76/125.93), Khalid Kail (228 runs @ 32/121), and skipper Aqib Ilyas Sulheri, who has racked up 675 runs @ 33.75/135.8 since the start of 2023.
The bowling attack will be led by Aqib Ilyas (35 wickets @ 13), Bilal Khan (35 wickets @ 17.4), and Fayyaz Butt (25 wickets @ 21.5).
Oman are drawn in Group B alongside England, Australia, Scotland, and Namibia. The Asian nation will open its campaign against Namibia on June 03 before locking horns with Australia (June 06), Scotland (June 09), and defending champions England (June 14).
