Worst final overs bowled in the IPL

Here are the four worst last overs bowled in different editions of the IPL.

#5 Daniel Christian (DC vs MI)

Mumbai Indians needed 19 runs from the last over. After a good over by Dale Steyn, DC's skipper Sangakkara gave the last over to Daniel Christian. James Franklin and Rohit Sharma were at the crease. James Franklin hit a four off the first ball followed by Rohit Sharma hitting a massive six. It all came down to 4 runs required from one ball and the nervous bowler ended up bowling a low full-toss that was smashed to the boundary by Rohit Sharma.

#4 Mashrafe Mortaza (KKR vs DC)

Deccan Chargers needed 21 runs from the last over. Brendon McCullum gave the last over to Mashrafe Mortaza. Rohit Sharma was on strike. Sharma hit the first ball for a four and to add to KKR's woes, the umpire signalled a no ball. On the third ball of the over, Rohit Sharma hit a massive six on a low full-toss bowled followed by a two and a four. The match came down to 1 required from last ball. Mashrafe Mortaza bowled a bouncer and the ball disappeared into the crowd after a splendid six by Rohit to hand DC an unlikely victory.

#3 Laxmipathy Balaji (KKR vs MI)

MI needed 21 from the last over. Gautam Gambhir gave the last over to Laxmipathy Balaji. The Tamil Nadu paceman had done reasonably well right through the tournament. James Franklin and Ambati Rayadu were batting for the Ambani-owned franchise.

MI scored 23 in that over as it appeared Balaji forgot how to bowl. Balaji could not get a single ball straight on the stumps in the block hole. His last ball was a 'hit me wherever you want' type of ball. In the end, Balaji's over read like: 4 4 4 4 1 6.

#2 Ashish Nehra (PWI vs RCB)

RCB needed 21 from the last over. Sourav Ganguly gave the last over to Ashish Nehra, with AB de Villiers and Saurabh Tiwary at the crease. It all came down to 3 runs required from 1 ball. Saurabh Tiwary made a name for himself as he slammed a six off the delivery to seal a six-wicket victory for the Bangalore team against Pune Warriors India.

#1 RP Singh (RCB vs CSK)

CSK needed 16 from the last over. Virat Kohli gave the last over to RP singh. Jadeja was the bastman and he hit RP Singh for a four and a massive six in first 2 balls. In the end, the scenario came down to 1 ball left and 2 runs required of it.

Jadeja was on strike for the last ball and he got caught by third man after an edge. RCB players and fans start celebrating failing to notice that the umpire had called a no-ball.

RCB lost the match to CSK, all thanks to RP Singh's front foot.
