Fifa World Cup History
The first-ever World Cup took place in 1930. It took place in July and Uruguay was selected to be the 1st host of the FIFA World Cup. 70 goals were scored throughout this competition which saw Uruguay emerge victorious at the end of it.
They beat Argentina 4-2 in the World Cup final to become the 1st ever FIFA World Cup champions ever. The Argentine forward Guillermo Stábile was the highest scorer with 8 goals, including one in the finals against Uruguay.
