John Maxwell Homa, aka Max Homa, is a professional PGA golfer, who previously competed on the Web.com Tour. In January 2024, during the third round of The Sentry (since 2003), Homa hit a 477-yard drive that set a record for the longest drive in the ShotLink era of the PGA Tour.


Homa had an impressive amateur career, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2010 US Amateur; however, he lost to An Byeong-hun. He also won the individual 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship and was selected for the 2013 Walker Cup, following which he went professional.


At the 2013 Frys.com Open, Homa made his first PGA appearance and won his first PGA event at the 2019 Wells Fargo Championship. He got entry on the PGA Tour, after placing 17th on the Web.com Tour regular-season money list in 2014–15.


In the 2023 season, Homa won the Farmers Insurance Open against Keegan Bradley, recovering from a two-shot deficit. Then he competed with the U.S. in the 2023 Ryder Cup, though Europe prevailed, but he went 3-1, and defeated Matt Fitzpatrick in Sunday singles. By November, he had won his first outside-U.S. event at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.
