Thomas Detry's parents

Thomas Detry, the Belgian professional golfer, has won three professional tournaments as of February 2025. He won his first PGA Tour event, the 2025 WM Phoenix Open, by seven shots and became the first Belgian player to secure a victory on the PGA Tour. Detry started playing the sport at the age of 5, along with lawn hockey and tennis. By 13, he had shifted his focus to golf, participating in several international events. After his training at the Golf Flanders Topsportschool Vlaanderen in Belgium, Detry attended the University of Illinois, where he played collegiate golf. During his senior year, Detry won the Dutch Junior Open, an under-21 golf tournament.

Before turning professional in 2016, he was ranked No. 5 in the amateur world rankings after securing 14 amateur titles between 2009 and 2016. Detry won the 2018 World Cup of Golf alongside his partner Thomas Pieters, representing Belgium. His best finish at a major is his T4 result at the 2024 PGA Championship. As of February 2025, he is ranked 23rd in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
