While Grand Theft Auto 6 has been announced, nothing is confirmed about GTA 6 Online, its multiplayer counterpart. For now, it is assumed that Rockstar's next title in the series will definitely have multiplayer functionalities. However, nobody knows how different Grand Theft Auto 6's online experience will be from GTA Online, the live-service multiplayer game played through Grand Theft Auto 5.
If Rockstar wants to phase out GTA 5's multiplayer with GTA 6 Online, it needs to introduce several improvements. With that in mind, here are some features that the upcoming multiplayer game should have.

Features that would improve GTA 6 Online
1) Car meets

Car meets are a great way for players to interact with each other and also to show off their personalized vehicles. Rockstar introduced the LS Car Meet in Grand Theft Auto Online as an indoor spot free of griefers.
GTA 6 Online should take this a step further and allow players to set up their own car meets on the open-world map. This could be made through custom sessions that are solely for car meets, which would keep out griefers out.

2) Gun Van

The idea of a Gun Van was first introduced in The Ballad of Gay Tony, where Armando brings his personal van filled with unique weapons. The Grand Theft Auto Online counterpart of this vehicle is somewhat similar, except that its stock and location change daily.
GTA 6 Online could use a Gun Van that sometimes keeps rare weapons in stock.

3) Submarine

What we mean by submarine here is the Kosatka, and not the tiny submersibles that were introduced in Grand Theft Auto 5. This watercraft should return in GTA 6 Online, which would allow you to have a mobile underwater base anywhere in the ocean.
The Kosatka lets players launch the Cayo Perico Heist in Grand Theft Auto Online. Grand Theft Auto 6 Online could also make use of a similar watercraft in a heist.

4) Custom vinyls/liveries

Car customization is the biggest draw in Grand Theft Auto Online, and Rockstar should improve this in the next game by allowing players to make their own liveries/vinyls. This is a simple feature that many racing games already have, and since vehicles are such an important aspect of Grand Theft Auto, the next one should introduce it.
Players should then be able to submit their custom liveries/vinyls for other players to use.

5) Car markets

An extremely useful feature in the LS Car Meet is the ability to buy another player's vehicle. With the removal of so many vehicles in Grand Theft Auto Online, players have started forming internet and social media communities for trading them in the game. This, however, simply involves buying a copy of another individual's vehicle.
Now, Rockstar should make a proper marketplace where players can sell their vehicles for money or buy others' vehicles instead. This feature would be perfect if used in conjunction with the ability to use custom liveries/vinyls.
