Rockstar quietly releases pre-load of GTA Online Summer Update 2025 patch

The GTA Online Summer Update 2025 will be released this coming Tuesday, June 17, 2025, although players can pre-load the DLC patch now. From 2:30 am PT, June 15, 2025, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S gamers can download the June DLC in advance. While the developers never officially comment on the situation, the Grand Theft Auto community typically stays prepared for quiet releases like these.

Note that PC, Xbox One, and PS4 users may have to wait until Tuesday, June 17, 2025, to access the GTA Online Summer Update 2025 pre-load data on their respective systems.

This seemingly confirms that the Summer DLC 2025, the GTA Online Money Fronts, will offer new content, disregarding concerns of being a smaller update like many thought it would be. For instance, the previous DLC Agents of Sabotage was around 6 GB. While the file size of the Money Fronts is half of that, it will still likely have a decent amount of new content for players to engage with.

For other consoles like the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, the patch will likely become downloadable as soon as the Summer DLC goes live. Even if some have pre-downloaded the patch, they won’t be able to access new content until its release. While Rockstar Games seldom shares such precise details, the release timing of the DLC can be guessed based on previous DLC releases.
