"Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year": GTA 6 release date seemingly hinted by Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive

One thing that some gamers took away from Take-Two Interactive's most recent earnings call from May 17, 2023, was GTA 6 might possibly be released in fiscal 2025. It is vital to mention that Rockstar Games' parent company never outright confirmed any release date. Instead, in that earnings report, Take-Two Interactive merely hyped up the prospects of the aforementioned date by stating:

"Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company."

The company then mentioned how "several groundbreaking titles" were planned for that time. Based on this wording, it would be logical to deduce that some big-name games will be coming out by fiscal 2025. Hence, some fans assume that GTA 6 could be one of them.

GTA 6's release date is hinted to be in Fiscal 2025 based on Take-Two's Earnings Call

The relevant part about fiscal 2025 is as follows (from the official Take-Two Interactive Q4 quarterly earnings report):

"Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success."

Speaking about its expectations in Fiscal 2025, Take-Two said:

"In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering additional growth in our operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond."

If the GTA 6 rumors based on this information are true, that would put its release date between April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. Much older leaks used to point to a 2024 or 2025 launch date, meaning this estimation would be consistent with those as well.

The only Grand Theft Auto-related title confirmed in the above chart is the GTA Trilogy, which is still scheduled to come out sometime between FY24 and FY26. However, unannounced games can still be seen on this chart. For example, Take-Two Interactive defines "Immersive Core" as:

"Titles that have the deepest gameplay and the most hours of content. Examples include our key sports franchises (e.g. PGA TOUR 2K and NBA 2K) as well as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption (to name a few)."

GTA 6 would unquestionably fall under that category if it were indeed slated for a release date by fiscal 2025. Keep in mind that its launch date can always be pushed back.

Take-Two Interactive also confirmed that the next Grand Theft Auto title was still being worked on but offered nothing else of note on the highly anticipated title. Rockstar Games is yet to put out an official trailer for GTA 6 by the time the most recent earnings call report came out.

It is also important to note that while there are hints suggesting this game could have a release date in 2024 or 2025, nothing is set in stone yet.
