Needless to say, this was the cause of widespread disappointment within the gaming community, but its second trailer and screenshots arriving shortly rejuvenated the hype.

It is worth noting that fan-made content is also keeping the community entertained, and the recent circulation of the GTA 7 release notice is a fine example of that. The actual source of this fan-made notice is currently unknown, but it is causing quite a bit of buzz on social media. X user @TREVORTRAILER reacted to it with the infamous "... before GTA 6 meme".

For anyone wondering, no, Rockstar Games hasn't posted anything about GTA 7 officially so far, and this notice about it releasing before Grand Theft Auto 6 is fan-made, as already mentioned.

Fan-made GTA 7 release notice jokes about the potential title releasing before GTA 6

The Grand Theft Auto community often jokes about how long Rockstar Games is taking to release Grand Theft Auto 6. The latest version of this is a fan-made notice, stating that after "extensive internal planning" the studio has decided to push GTA 6 to 2030, and launch GTA 7 instead in 2026.

It has got fans talking on social media, but as stated, is not real in any way. Grand Theft Auto 7 has yet to be confirmed officially, but we know that GTA 6 will finally come out on May 26, 2026.
