Since Destiny 2's initial release in 2017, it has received many seasons and a ton of content. Every expansion comes with four new seasons, each comprising new stories, Exotics to chase, and more useful gear to acquire. Although every season had something new and special, some of them impacted the game for the better, be it lore-wise or content-wise.

In this article, we will list all the seasons, from Shadowkeep to Lightfall, and rank them based on their impact on the broader Destiny 2 experience. This article lists every season, from the Season of the Undying to the Season of the Wish.

SS-tier

Seasons in this tier comprised everything a Destiny player could ask for: a great seasonal activity, a new selection of powerful weapons, and an evolving story that impacted the overall narrative of Destiny 2.

As these seasons had a lot of stuff happening during their runtime, every Guardian had something to enjoy. Only a few seasons can boast the same attainment. Some of them are as follows:

  • Season of the Dawn
  • Season of the Arrival

Both seasons were great in every aspect, be it lore-wise or content-wise. While Season of the Dawn came with great seasonal content like Sundials, Season of the Arrival introduced Umbral Engrams, allowing Guardians to target specific loot.

S-tier

Like the SS tier, there was plenty to do in these seasons. These offered outstanding seasonal content and unique twists to the story. However, they still lacked the level of impact the SS tier seasons had on the overall Destiny 2 experience.

The S tier includes the following:

  • Season of the Witch
  • Season of the Splicer
  • Season of the Seraph

Of these, both Season of the Splicer and Season of the Seraph introduced outstanding seasonal activities alongside great rewards to keep the players engaged. On the other hand, Season of the Witch also came with some satisfying story moments, impacting the overall narrative of Destiny 2.

A-tier

Although the seasons in this tier were not as groundbreaking and impactful as those in the first two tiers, they still provided noteworthy content. These delivered an overall satisfying experience for the player base.

This tier includes seasons such as:

  • Season of the Chosen
  • Season of the Lost
  • Season of the Deep

These are some of the good seasons Destiny 2 had because of their unique rewards, interesting lore, and great seasonal activities. While Season of the Chosen came with a secret Exotic mission called Presage, Season of the Lost offered seasonal activities like Astral Alignment and the Shattered Realm.

On the other hand, Season of the Deep delivered a new dungeon named Ghosts of the Deep, featuring one of the strongest exotic trace rifles in Destiny 2.

B-tier

The seasons in this tier list provided decent content but failed to impact the overall experience like the previous tiers. While the gameplay and seasonal activities were enjoyable, these seasons felt pretty boring due to their short story content and mission design.

The B-tier seasons include:

  • Season of the Defiance
  • Season of the Haunted
  • Season of the Risen
  • Season of the Wish

Among these, Season of the Haunted was one of the most content-rich seasons, featuring a new and unique seasonal activity inside Calus' Leviathan. On the other hand, Season of the Risen featured a three-player activity called PsiOps Battlegrounds alongside a time-limited Exotic mission, Vox Obscura.

Season of the Defiance didn't drive things forward significantly lore-wise, but it provided some good rewards with new perk pools.

Although Season of the Wish is the ongoing season that came with a lot of content, including Dungeons and seasonal activities, the player count might fall flat soon, considering the unsatisfactory loot tables.

C-tier

These are the worst seasons of Destiny 2. The rewards were not great, seasonal activities were exhausting, and the impact on the narrative was nominal.

The seasons in this tier are:

  • Season of the Worthy
  • Season of the Hunt
  • Season of the Plunder
  • Season of the Undying

As a launch season for an expansion, both Season of the Hunt and Season of the Undying failed to live up to expectations due to their weak seasonal content and rewards. On the other hand, the Season of the Plunder and the Season of the Worthy also exhausted the players with their formulaic activities and farming.
