#1 - Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa Hawkeyes

Many experts projected Cooper DeJean to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. His lack of speed may have been one of the reasons why he is still available on Day 2. He is one of the most physical cornerback prospects this year, excelling in press coverage as well as in run support.

#2 - Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas Longhorns

Xavier Worthy, another Texas Longhorns wide receiver, was selected in the first round. His teammate Adonai Mitchell is one of the best available players who received a first-round grade from many draft experts. He is a better route-runner, but Worthy's blazing speed may have made him a more attractive prospect.

#3 - Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama Crimson Tide

Some experts covering the 2024 NFL Draft rated Kool-Aid McKinstry as the best cornerback prospect this year. Apparently, many NFL teams disagreed as he has slipped to Day 2. Alabama is well known for producing some of the best defensive players in the country, so he could end up being one of the biggest steals.

#4 - Jackson Powers-Johnson, IOL, Oregon Ducks

While interior offensive linemen aren't necessarily considered a premium position, many mock drafts predicted Jackson Powers-Johnson to be the first one off the board in the first round. That wasn't the case, but he's now one of the best available prospects and will theoretically be one of the first names called in round two.

#5 - Jer'Zhan Newton, DT, Illinois Fighting Illini

Defensive tackles can sometimes be overlooked, but the top players in the position can serve as anchors for an entire defense. Their contributions can be extremely versatile, including pressuring the quarterback and stuffing the run. Jer'Zhan Newton has plenty of upside in several areas, so he could be a top target in the second round.
