ABOUT

The Carolina Panthers are one of the newest franchises in the National Football League. The Panthers represent both Northern and Southern Carolina in football although they are based out of Uptown, Charlotte in North Carolina. The Panthers joined the NFL as the 29th franchise of the league in 1993 and started playing in the league in 1995. The Carolina Panthers were one of the most successful NFL franchises who joined as expansion teams and had great results in the initial two NFL seasons. However, the Panthers failed to capitalize on their early success and remained elusive from the playoffs till 2003. Originally part of the NFC West Division, the Panthers are currently playing in the NFC South Division (since 2002). The Panthers are currently worth around $3.6 billion as per Forbes.
