The Chicago Bears went on a spending binge to start free agency. The free agency crop was examined by general manager Ryan Poles, head coach Matt Eberflus, and the Bears' administration over the course of two months. They assigned each player a value, which served as their road map to a stronger team in 2023.
The Bears made an attempt to sign two notable free agents. They missed out on right tackle Mike McGlinchey, who inked a five-year agreement with the Denver Broncos, but they did add linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to a four-year agreement.
Although the Bears should not use all their remaining cap space, several senior free agents would be a good match for their value-driven strategy before the NFL Draft.

#1 - Kendall Wright, Wide Receiver

Kendall Wright, the 20th overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, did not live up to his potential with the Tennessee Titans. However, under the direction of offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, he still managed 1,079 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2013. Currently, Loggains performs a similar function in Chicago.
Wright has not drawn much attention from potential buyers this summer, which may be due to the fact that he has not played in more than 11 games in any of his last two campaigns and has not produced effectively despite the introduction of Marcus Mariota. Additionally, he was benched numerous times last season.
Unfortunately, the Chicago Bears lack depth and insurance at wide receiver. Wright can offer both, particularly since his previous coordinator can use him to his fullest potential once again.
#2 - Yannick Ngakoue, Defensive End

DeMarcus Walker and Andrew Billings are free agent signings for the Bears on defense, but extra support is required to improve a team that lacked fire in 2022.
Each of Yannick Ngakoue's first seven NFL seasons has seen him record at least eight sacks. He just finished a year in which he had 9.5 sacks for the Indianapolis Colts. Additionally, he recorded 44 pressures.
The seasoned defender only provides little in the way of run defense, but he pressures the quarterback, which was a weakness for the Bears the previous year.
#3 - Frank Clark, EDGE

The Chicago Bears' pass-rush offense stalled last year when they lost standout edge rusher Khalil Mack in an offseason trade. Despite the outstanding rookie play from defensive backs Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon, the Bears' pass defense was one of the worst in the league since they had the fewest sacks in the league (20).
Frank Clark is a seasoned league player who will be tasked with providing a youthful team lacking in leadership with his mature influence and years of postseason experience. The 30-year-old ex-Seahawk would be a huge asset to a defense that last year was led to sacks by a rookie safety. Additionally, it is a match that justifies logic because Ryan Poles, who was in the Kansas City Chiefs administration when the team structured Clark's most recent contract, has a professional relationship with Clark.
