Most influential NFL HCs of all time: #3-#1

#3 - Don Shula

Don Shula is one of the most legendary HCs in the history of the NFL. He still holds the record for having the most successful campaign with the Miami Dolphins, who went undefeated and won the Super Bowl in 1972. No other team has been able to match this feat.

Shula coached the Miami Dolphins from 1970-1995, often being credited as the reason for Dan Marino's reputation as the best pure passer in the league. Shula has an overall record of 347-173-6. He holds the record for most overall wins and most regular-season wins (328) by a head coach. He is also a two-time Super Bowl champion.

#2 - Vince Lombardi

No list of the most influential HCs of all time is complete without the legendary Vince Lombardi, who helped create one of the toughest teams to ever play in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers won the very first two Super Bowls uder Lombardi's tutelage, and the trophy came to be named after him.

Lombardi helped create a culture that hadn't existed previously. He was also a six-time NFL champion before the creation of the Super Bowl. Vince Lombardi will go down as the best head coach the Packers have ever seen.

#1 - Bill Belichick

Soon, Bill Belichick might pass Don Shula on the all-time winning list for NFL HCs. He has turned the New England Patriots into one of the most dominant teams in the history of the NFL. He was fortunate to have Tom Brady at his disposal, but regardless of that, the Patriots have won six Super Bowls, 17 divisional titles and 31 postseason games under Belichick's lead.

Bill Belichick's current record is 320-154. He is only a few winning seasons away from passing Don Shula in overall wins for a head coach.
