LA Rams players who had a major impact on the 2021 NFL season

Here are five players from the Rams roster that have provided major contributions this season on their way to a Super Bowl LVI victory.

#3 - DL Aaron Donald

Aaron Donald turned in another massive season for the Rams, continuing his career as one of the best defensive linemen in NFL history. He finished in the top five for the Defensive Player of the Year award, as he has every year since winning the Rookie of the Year award in his first NFL season. He has a total of 16 sacks, including in the postseason, one of which sealed the Super Bowl victory.

#4 - QB Matthew Stafford

The Rams made a bold move by trading for quarterback Matthew Stafford prior to the start of the 2021 NFL season. It paid off in a big way for them, as he had an excellent year while leading the Rams to a Super Bowl victory. He ranked in the top five in the NFL with 4,886 passing yards and 41 touchdowns with a 63.8 QBR. In four playoff games, he completed 70 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns.

#5 - K Matt Gay

Kickers rarely get much credit, but Matt Gay was one of the best kickers of the 2021 NFL season. He made 32 of his 34 field goal attempts in the regular season and was a perfect 3-3 in the postseason. He successfully converted 94.1 percent of his attempts in the regular season, ranking second only behind Justin Tucker. He has also made 59 of 60 extra point attempts this year, including in the playoffs.
