While most NFL stars enjoyed Thanksgiving with their family and loved ones, many went the extra mile and gave back the festive love to their communities.

Whether monetary donations/contributions to NGOs or foundations and charities organizing meal drives or spending time with children or US Army veterans, reaching out to communities during the holiday season has warmed the hearts of many.

Every year, NFL teams and players have steadfastly committed to fostering camaraderie with the fans, and in 2024, it is no different.

5 NFL players who celebrated Thanksgiving with communities

1. Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers organized an annual Thanksgiving charity event on Thursday, during which the star quarterback Brock Purdy did not just mark his attendance but also made his contribution. Purdy attended the event and entertained 15 families through multiple sub-events at Levi's Stadium. The 49ers quarterback was also spotted distributing food and gifts during the event.

2. Dalton Risner

Minnesota Vikings star Dalton Risner and his wife Whitney - through their 'The RisnerUp Foundation' - organized a full-fledged Thanksgiving dinner at the Saint Paul community gym. Hy-Vee catered the dinner, and community members of all ages were invited to have a great time together. There were also arrangements for a DJ, which added an extra fun element to Thanksgiving celebrations.

3. DeShon Elliott

On Thursday, Pittsburgh Steelers star DeShon Elliott organized an intimate Thanksgiving dinner for young minds from Queen and Young Black Motivated Kings. During the Thanksgiving feast, the safety encouraged the young talent to open up about mental health struggles and discussed ways to recover from adversities. The event was a success, and the young teens left with a tummy filled with great food and minds filled with great wisdom from DeShon Elliott.

4. Camryn Bynum

Another Minnesota Vikings player, Camryn Bynum, gave back to the community on Thanksgiving Day. Bynum and his son Joshua visited the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, where Vikings organized a charity event to donate 1500 Thanksgiving meals to multiple local communities.

5. Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love also contributed to the community this Thanksgiving. For the Week 13 clash against the Dolphins, the Packers star participated in the team's "My Cause, My Cleats" initiative. Love wore custom cleats, which were later auctioned off at the NFL Auction. The funds raised by Love from the auction will be donated to his foundation, Hands of 10ve.
