Last off-season, Aaron Rodgers signed a three-year deal worth $150 million with the Green Bay Packers to remain under contract through the 2026 season.
Rodgers could either return for another season next year with the Packers, retire, or move to a different team via trade.
While Green Bay agreed to the extension last off-season, they could explore the option of trading the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, whose production has started to decline. After winning back-to-back MVPs over the previous two seasons, Rodgers posted a losing record of 8-9 with a QBR that went down from 111.9 to 91.9.
Moreover, the Packers also have backup quarterback Jordan Love, whom they traded up for and drafted in the first round of the 2020 draft.
They could be thinking about their future and surrounding Love with pieces, as they know they will eventually have to move on from Rodgers and rebuild. If Rodgers is on the trade block or a team offers a king's ransom, the Packers would certainly field offers.
One team that could potentially be interested in Rodgers is the New York Jets.
The Jets are expected to move on from former first-round pick Zach Wilson after two disappointing seasons.
Joe Flacco, 38, is not their long-term answer, and backup Mike White isn't good enough to be a franchise quarterback.
Even after a disappointing 2022 season, Rodgers' value would still be high. One would think the Jets would have to give up multiple first-round picks, a few mid-round picks, and potentially a few key players.
The Broncos got multiple first-round picks and some players for Russell Wilson, and Rodgers is much better.

Could this be the off-season when Aaron Rodgers retires? He's flirted with the idea multiple times in the last few seasons.
Following the Packers' season finale, Rodgers said he would contemplate retirement:
"At some point, the carousel comes to a stop and it's time to get off, and I think you kind of know when that is. And that's what needs to be contemplated. Is it time? Also, what's the organization doing? That's part of it, as well. But the competitive fire is always going to be there. I don't think that ever goes away.
"Sometimes it gets transferred, I think, to other things that might not ever fill that large void. But like I said, I feel good about what I've accomplished in this league and wouldn't have any regrets walking away. But I got to see what it feels like once I get away from this."
Rodgers could retire after a mediocre season with the team. He's still under contract and carries a dead cap value of $99 million.
Time will tell what will happen to Rodgers, but for now, speculation will grow with the rumors.
