The Indianapolis Colts' Alec Pierce and the Atlanta Falcons' Darnell Mooney have both been under-the-radar receivers who have had success through two weeks.
Pierce has found the endzone in both Week 1 and Week 2, while Mooney found the endzone in Week 2. Although neither were expected to have as big roles as they have had, both have excelled in their roles so far. So who should fantasy managers start in Week 3?
Is Alec Pierce a good pick in Week 3?
Alec Pierce is a good pick in Week 3 as he has become the No. 1 receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. However, the Colts are playing the Chicago Bears who are allowing just 193.5 yards per game through two weeks, as they have one of the top defenses in the NFL.

In Week 1, he had 125 receiving yards and a touchdown and followed that with 56 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 2.
Pierce has been targeted 10 times through two weeks, while Michael Pittman Jr., who was supposed to be Indianapolis' No. 1 receiver, has just seven catches, but has been targeted 15 times.
However, Pierce is a boom-or-bust fantasy player as he does have plenty of explosive plays.
Is Darnell Mooney a good pick in Week 3?
Although Darnell Mooney found the endzone in Week 2, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins did start throwing more to Drake London and Kyle Pitts.
Atlanta is also going up against the Kansas City Chiefs who have a good pass defense as they kept Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow to both under 275 passing yards.
The Falcons do have plenty of options on offense, which makes it tough for Mooney to continue to get receiving yards. As Cousins continues to get more comfortable in the Falcons offense, he will likely target the better-receiving options in London and Pitts, while Bijan Robinson will get plenty of carries.
Who should I start in Week 3 between Alec Pierce and Darnell Mooney?
Sportskeeda's fantasy analyzer tool suggests users start Alec Pierce over Darnell Mooney in Week 3.
Pierce is projected to get 7.8 fantasy points in PPR, while Mooney is projected for 6.9. Neither is projected to find the endzone in Week 3.
However, with Josh Downs likely coming back for the Colts, it will be interesting to see how that impacts Pierce's targets.
But for now, the SK fantasy tool believes Pierce is the better fantasy option in Week 3.
