Best DFS Picks for Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons - October 23 | 2022 NFL Football Season

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow
Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow

The Cincinnati Bengals host the Atlanta Falcons in a match-up of red-hot teams, both of which have won three of their last four games. The Falcons remain surprising contenders in the topsy-turvy NFC South, while the Bengals attempt to keep pace with their division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.

Today we look at the best DFS plays from this intriguing match-up.

Best quarterback picks

Cash and tournament games: Joe Burrow, QB, Cincinnati Bengals (DraftKings $6.9K, FanDuel $8.3K)

Joe Burrow has the Cincinnati Bengals back on track after a rough start to the season. The Bengals' offensive line is playing better, giving Burrow more time to find his explosive receivers down the field.

Marcus Mariota represents a significantly cheaper option (DraftKings $5.5K, FanDuel $7.1K), but the Falcons' passing volume is the lowest in the league, making Mariota a risk not worth taking.

Best running back picks

Mixon projects to be the second-highest owned back (behind Josh Jacobs) in this weekend's slate, illustrating how many in the DFS community favor him. Given that type of ownership, Mixon is an easy fade for me in tournaments.

Given Joe Mixon's price (Drafkings $7K, FanDuel $7.4K), one could prefer other options, hence fading Mixon on this slate entirely.

The same can be said for the Falcons' backfield. Atlanta's committee approach remains unreliable for DFS purposes.

Wide receivers and tight ends

Cash game: Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals (DraftKings $6.4, FanDuel $7.1)

Tee Higgins is a substantially cheaper option than teammate Ja'Marr Chase (DraftKings $8.2, FanDuel $8.5).

Early speculation is that Chase will see a great deal of the Falcons' top cornerback A.J. Terrell, who has done a tremendous job limiting opposing wide receivers this season.

Higgins will draw less attention and coverage and should find an open area in the Falcons' secondary. Higgins projects to be around 13% ownership, not a number that is drastic enough to avoid.

Tournament: Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons (DraftKings $4.3, FanDuel $5.9)

It has been a rough go for Kyle Pitts in 2022. Remember, when playing in a larger field tournament, you want to swim against the stream and gain leverage against the field. Kyle Pitts is a low-cost option at his current price, combined with a low projection at less than 5 percent.

If the Bengals/Falcons game becomes more of a high-scoring affair, and the Falcons have to throw the ball more often than usual, Kyle Pitts is the type of player to capitalize on.
