Bijan Robinson and Jahmyr Gibbs have been two of the best overall fantasy football running backs during the 2024 NFL season so far. They both turned in promising rookie seasons last year and have seemingly taken another step forward. They are elite options in Week 9 lineups, but here's which one is a better pick.
Is Bijan Robinson a good fantasy pick in Week 9?

Bijan Robinosn finished his rookie season last year with the Atlanta Falcons ranked as the overall RB9 in fantasy football. He has improved to the overall RB6 through the first eight weeks of the 2024 season. He has also set season-highs in weekly ranking in each of his past three games, so he's trending in the right direction.

Making Robinson even more valuable in Week 9 is a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, who are currently allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs. He has some of the highest upside of any player this week.
Is Jahmyr Gibbs a good fantasy pick in Week 9?

Jahmyr Gibbs finished as the RB10 last season with the Detroit Lions, despite sharing the backfield workload with David Montgomery. A nearly even timeshare hasn't slowed him down as he ranks even higher this year as the RB5 so far. He has done so despite eclipsing 60% of the offensive snaps just once this season.
Up next for Gibbs is an important matchup against the Green Bay Packers where he could see an increase in his touches. He has set season-highs in rushing yards in each of his past two games and scored three touchdowns during that time.
Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs: Who should I start in Week 9 fantasy football?

While both running backs are elite options in Week 9 fantasy football, Sportskeeda's Who Should I Start tool recommends using Bijan Robinson over Jahmyr Gibbs. His superior matchup against the Cowboys is one of the biggest reasons as their defense has been torched by running backs all season long. This gives him even more weekly upside than he usually does.
The tool expects Robinson to score more than an additional fantasy point this week as a result of his higher yardage projections in both rushing and receiving. He is also much more likely to score a receiving touchdown, which makes up for Gibbs having better projections for receptions and rushing touchdowns.
