The first game of Week 3 is an all-AFC East clash between the New York Jets and New England Patriots, and running backs Rhamondre Stevenson and Breece Hall are expected to play major roles.
However, each man is in a vastly different offensive situation. One is a member of an absurdly loaded team filled with stars and impact players; the other is quite possibly the only bright spot on one of the least stacked rosters in recent memory.

Is Rhamondre Stevenson a good fantasy pick in Week 3?

In the season-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rhamondre Stevenson was dominant. He rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries as the Patriots came away 16-10 victors. But against the Seattle Seahawks, he was quieter, with only 81 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries as the secondary made attempts to contain him.
And that could become an even bigger problem against the Jets, who boast one of the deepest defenses in the league with multiple All-Pros and Pro Bowlers capable of stopping him and forcing offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt to use the pass despite a weak receiving corps.
Is Breece Hall a good fantasy pick in Week 3?

Breece Hall has been mostly quiet in the Jets' first two games so far. Against the San Francisco 49ers, he had only 54 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries en route to a 19-32 loss. In their Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans, he was no better, with just 62 yards from 14 carries, as rookie Barelon Allen dominated with two total touchdowns.
On Thursday, Hall should have plenty of opportunities to rush prolifically. The Patriots have one of the weakest rosters in the league, with the defense boasting only two noteworthy players: defensive backs Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Dugger.
However, both of them will also have to contend with the Jets' monstrous passing game that involves Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Allen Lazard and even Tyler Conklin.
Whom should I start between Rhamondre Stevenson and Breece Hall?

In perhaps one of the most lopsided matchups ever run on Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, Hall utterly destroys Stevenson in every statistical category – a devastating case to be a unanimous pick.
There is no doubting what the Jets can do with him on the ground, but they have plenty of ways to win. If he gets contained, Braelon Allen could fill in and dominate as he did last week. If the ground game is contained, then Aaron Rodgers may have to air it out to his pass-catchers.
And should even the air game be contained, then they can just turn to their defense to shut down the Patriots and their anemically weak offense – especially with the players each side has.
