Russell Wilson has received his fair share of blame for the Denver Broncos' struggles this season. However, when one NFL analyst described the team's plight, the quarterback was listed as being merely one of the problems facing the team.

Speaking on The Colin Cowherd Podcast, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd listed injuries and issues with the head coach also among the long list of troubles facing the franchise. With so many problems afflicting the team, he claimed there was little hope for a turnaround this season.

"I don't feel good about my Denver prediction because I don't love the offensive line. Garett Bolles is not coming back. They can't run the ball consistently and their top running back is out for the season. I don't love Nathaniel Hackett. I think he is what he is and Russell Wilson behind an average offensive line as a smaller quarterback completed 15 throws."

He went on, claiming that the defense Denver faced was far from a brick wall:

"Not only was Joey Bosa hurt, but JC Jackson, their top corner, was benched. This was not exactly a tough road environment. There are probably more Bronco fans than Charger fans. I just think this is what Denver's going to be."

How well did Russell Wilson play on Monday Night Football?

Russell Wilson started Monday's contest against the Chargers as well as any Broncos fan could have hoped. He started with 10 straight completions and a touchdown. The team was up 10-0. Commentator Joe Buck called it as good as a performance as he had seen from the quarterback all season long.

However, after halftime, the quarterback hit a brick wall. In two quarters, the team scored two field goals. One of the field goals was due to an interception thrown by Justin Herbert on his side of the field.

According to Broncos insider Zac Stevens, the quarterback completed three of 11 passes for 15 yards in the second half and in overtime. The offense had -9 net passing yards in the timeframe.

The team will hope to turn it around when they face the 4-2 New York Jets, who just wrapped up a blowout of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
