Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert may miss several weeks because of a hamstring injury. Goedert sustained the setback during the team's 20-16 victory against the Cleveland Browns last weekend, considering the severity of soft tissue injuries in the NFL.However, coach Nick Sirianni, during a press conference he held on Wednesday, refused to rule Goedert out for the team's Week 7 game against the New York Giants. Although Sirianni acknowledged that Dallas Goedert's injury will make it difficult for him to suit up in Week 7, he also mentioned how tough the star tight end is.Regarding Goedert's chances of suiting up against the Giants, Sirianni said:"We'll see. Obviously, we still have time this week. I don’t expect him to do much at practice, but we’ll see how that goes. I don’t ever want to put a cap on a guy that I know is going to work his butt off to get back. Dallas is ultra-tough, and if anybody can get back to playing faster than what you might anticipate, it’s Dallas Goedert.”Goedert has been a vital attacking weapon for the Birds for the past few years, but he has struggled with injuries. The tight end featured in only 14 games last season due to a forearm fracture that necessitated surgery. He finished the campaign with 59 receptions for 592 yards and three touchdowns. He also spent a portion of the 2022 season on the injured reserve due to a shoulder ailment. The 29-year-old tight end has only been available for a full regular season once in his career, and that was in his rookie year in 2018.Grant Calcaterra is expected to take over as the Eagles' primary tight end if Goedert eventually misses time due to the injury, with Jack Stoll filling in as TE2 until the seasoned TE returns.Dallas Goedert injury update: What happened to the Eagles TE?Dallas Goedert may be sidelined for a few weeks as a result of a hamstring injury he suffered last weekend, according to some reports.Goedert went down with a hamstring injury on the third play of Week 6's opening quarter against the Cleveland Browns. He departed the game and didn't show up again.According to the Eagles' official injury report, Goedert's hamstring ailment prevented him from practicing on Wednesday. His odds of playing in Philly's Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants are extremely low, even though he hasn't been formally ruled out.Grant Calcaterra filled in well for Goedert after he got injured in Week 6; he had four catches for 67 yards in the 20-16 victory. Should Goedert be out for Week 7, the team may be able to rely on Calcaterra once more.
