The Denver Broncos had a lot to do this offseason. A very disappointing season needed to be put behind them, and signing veteran free agents could make a huge difference next campaign.

They quickly improved their offensive line when the legal tampering window opened. They signed ex-San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey and former Baltimore Ravens guard Ben Powers.

Tremon Smith (CB) signed, adding some depth to the position. Smith has played mostly on special teams and will likely see a lot of kickoff returns.

The Broncos need more running backs since Javonte Williams' injury status is uncertain. Samaje Perine is a reliable receiver and good at pass protection.

Ben Powers (G) will help strengthen the offensive line. He played every offensive snap for the Ravens in 2022. Powers may not do as well in pass protection, but he's a rising player who fills a big need.

Mike McGlinchey (OT) was a top priority for the Broncos. He had strong pass and run block win rates in 2022 and is a huge signing.

Jarrett Stidham (QB) will be a backup quarterback in Denver, with the limited experience of starting two NFL games in his career.

Chris Manhertz (TE) will bring more physicality to the offensive line and contribute to special teams.

Alex Singleton (LB) will return after a strong 2022 season. He'll play an important role at linebacker. Singleton's only risk is if injuries force him into pass coverage situations where he may struggle.

Zach Allen (DE) is excellent in run defense and providing interior pressure. Allen hasn't played a full season in his career, but Denver needs him to continue improving.

Defensive tackle Dre'Mont Jones moved on in free agency, which led the team to secure defensive line help early on with Zach Allen's signing. Cornerback Ronald Darby's release increased the need for depth in the cornerback position, which they addressed by signing Tremon Smith.

Guard Graham Glasgow's departure resulted in the Broncos adding Ben Powers to reinforce their offensive line. Additionally, the team saw running backs Chase Edmonds (now-Buccaneers) and Latavius Murray become unrestricted free agents, prompting them to bring in Samaje Perine. They may explore the draft for more running back options.

These departures have shaped the franchise's strategy in free agency and the draft as they look to fill voids and strengthen their roster for the upcoming season.
