Eagles or Steelers defense Week 14 Start/Sit advice and fantasy projections

Week 13 was billed as a matchup between two teams with three MVP candidates when the Baltimore Ravens went up against the Philadelphia Eagles. All of Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley suited up in that game but the headline was that the Eagles defense shut down Baltimore's offense, restricting them to 19 points as they picked up their 10th win of the season.

Most of the credit for that feat goes to Vic Fangio, who has installed a pretty nifty scheme since switching over from sunny Miami. One could argue that if the Eagles can shut shop against Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, they can possibly do it against any offensive juggernaut in this league.

Week 14's matchup, however, isn't expected to pose too much of a problem for the Eagles when they host the Carolina Panthers at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles defense fantasy outlook for Week 14

At one point this season, it looked like the Carolina Panthers would end up with the number one pick in the draft. Between benching Bryce Young and restoring him to the starting lineup, head coach Dave Canales has finally found some sort of balance. Over the past two weeks, the Panthers have run the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers close, bringing the game down to one possession.

They didn't end up taking home any wins but the offense is on the up. A matchup against this Eagles defense, though, may come at the wrong time. The Eagles didn't get off to the best of starts but the defense has dominated most of their matchups, giving the offense a platform to go and do their thing.

Philly held all of the Bengals, Commanders and Ravens to under 20 points and didn't allow the Cowboys to get to even seven points. Bryce Young hasn't taken more than two sacks in a game since Week 1 but this matchup could be the end of that streak.

Pittsburgh Steelers defense fantasy outlook for Week 14

The only thing you need to know about this Steelers defense is that they will go up against the Cleveland Browns. After Monday Night Football, Jameis Winston prayed to the Lord to "deliver him from pick-sixes" in a quote that was completely on-brand for him.

In any case, against the Broncos, Winston threw three picks, two of which were pick-sixes and the last of which sealed the game. Winston threw the ball 58 times for 497 yards and four touchdowns but given the variance in his game, you can bet the Steelers will keep him in check.
