Fantasy Football Start 'Em Sit 'Em 2022 NFL Week 7: Wide receiver rankings

The wide receiver position has always been the deepest NFL position during each Fantasy Football season. The position features the most players contributing useful Fantasy Football scores each week. While having options can be beneficial, it also creates a challenge, as choosing the right ones is crucial.

The depth of wide receivers makes it extremely important to analyze their weekly matchups to find players in favorable situations to thrive. This will help fantasy owners optimize their lineups each week.

Week 7 of the 2022 Fantasy Football season features many solid choices, but there are several usual starters to avoid.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers: Start 'Em

Michael Gallup - Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions

Dak Prescott is reportedly set to make his return for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. This is excellent Fantasy Football news for the Cowboys offensive players. Prescott helped the Cowboys become the highest-scoring offense during the 2021 NFL season and will look to get back into form this year.

The Cowboys have an ideal matchup in Week 7 to get their offense rolling again. The Detroit Lions have allowed the most points per game this year by nearly a touchdown. Michael Gallup has yet to record five receptions or 50 yards in a single game this season, but this looks like an excellent time for a breakout performance.

Tyler Boyd - Cincinnati Bengals vs. Atlanta Falcons

Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins have proven to be the preferred targets of Joe Burrow within the Cincinnati Bengals' passing attack. Both are must-start wide receivers every week, while Tyler Boyd should only be used in the right Fantasy Football matchup. Week 7 is one of those opportunities.

Boyd has recorded more than 12.5 PPR points in three games this season while failing to reach eight PPR points in the other three. He could be in line for one of his strongest performances against the Atlanta Falcons defense, allowing the second-most passing yards per game.

Donovan Peoples-Jones - Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

Donovan Peoples-Jones has been quietly productive for the Cleveland Browns over the last few weeks. He has recorded at least four receptions and 50 yards in each of his previous three games, including being the team's leading receiver in Week 6 against the New England Patriots.

Peoples-Jones has an excellent matchup in Week 7 to keep his hot streak going. While the Baltimore Ravens rank in the top eight in rushing defense, they rank in the bottom five in passing defense. The game script can command a solid receiving performance.

Week 7 Fantasy Football Wide Receivers: Sit 'Em

DJ Moore - Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Carolina Panthers WR DJ Moore

DJ Moore has been one of the most disappointing wide receivers during the 2022 Fantasy Football season so far. He finished each of the last three seasons ranked in the top 25 in fantasy points per game among wide receivers. Six games into the 2022 season, he ranks outside of the top 50.

Things could still get even worse for Moore as the Carolina Panthers appear to be entering a full rebuild. They recently traded Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers and fired head coach Matt Rhule. Unless Moore is traded prior to the deadline, he will be extremely difficult to trust in Fantasy Football this season on one of the weakest offenses in the NFL.

Drake London - Atlanta Falcons vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Drake London got off to a fast start to to the 2022 NFL season in his rookie year. He totaled 16 receptions and two touchdowns across his first three games, while exceeding 50 yards in all of them. He has failed to score a touchdown since then, while totaling just nine recpetions across his last three games.

Rookies can be more inconsistent than most other NFL players at times and so has been the case for London so far. Week 7 presents a challenging Fantasy Football matchup as he tries to get back on track against the Cincinnati Bengals' top-ten scoring defense.

Darnell Mooney - Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots

Darnell Mooney has been the leading wide receiver for the Chicago Bears this year, but that's not saying much. The Bears currently average the least passing yards per game by a wide margin. They average at least 32 fewer passing yards per game than any other NFL team.

Mooney has exceeded 7.5 PPR fantasy points just twice this season, while failing to reach five points three times. He faces off against the New England Patriots on the road in Week 7 and is better off avoided in Fantasy Football.
