Tight ends can be one of the most challenging NFL positions to navigate during each Fantasy Football season. Only about a handful of players provide consistent weekly production from the position. This has made streaming tight ends an extremely popular strategy in Fantasy Football in an attempt to optimize their position.
Week 9 of the 2022 Fantasy Football season will be more challenging than usual in finding quality tight ends. Six NFL teams are on a bye week, significantly limiting the potential options in the position, making an already slim field even smaller. This makes it more important than ever to analyze recent performances and direct defensive matchups when choosing a tight end this week.
Week 9 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Start 'Em

Evan Engram has been one of the top Fantasy Football tight ends recently. He has ranked in the top ten in PPR points in three of the last four weeks. Engram seems to be on the same page as quarterback Trevor Lawrence lately and has a favorable matchup in Week 9. The Las Vegas Raiders currently allow the third-most fantasy points per game to tight ends.
Robert Tonyan - Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions

Robert Tonyan ranks in the top 15 in PPR points per game among tight ends, making him a borderline weekly starter. He has also been consistent lately, finishing in the top 20 in five of the last six games. With the Detroit Lions ranking in the bottom five in Fantasy Football against tight ends, Aaron Rodgers may look to capitalize on Tonyan's matchup.
Gerald Everett - Los Angeles Chargers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Gerald Everett has shown he is capable of being an elite Fantasy Football tight end when at his best. He has finished in the top ten in PPR points in four of his seven games this season. He may also see an increased workload in Week 9 as Keenan Allen and Mike Williams are each dealing with injuries. This makes him an excellent tight end to target in Fantasy Football this week.
Week 9 Fantasy Football Tight Ends: Sit 'Em
Mike Gesicki - Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears

Mike Gesicki has been surging lately after a slow start to the 2022 NFL season. He has finished in the top ten in PPR points among tight ends in two of the last three weeks. He should still probably be avoided in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears, who rank in the top ten in fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends.
Tyler Conklin - New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills

Tyler Conklin scored the most PPR points of all tight ends during Week 8. He bounced back in a big way after finishing outside the top 25 in each of the previous three weeks. He has also scored the sixth-most total fantasy points among tight ends this year. Week 9 presents a much more challenging matchup against the Buffalo Bills' top-ranked passing defense. It may be a tough day for quarterback Zach Wilson, which negatively affects Conklin's outlook this week.
Cade Otton - Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams

Tom Brady has always been known to target his tight ends often. This makes Cade Otton a solid streaming option in the right matchups. Week 9 is not one of them. The Los Angeles Rams have allowed the third-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends since acquiring Bobby Wagner during the offseason.
