Each week of the fantasy football season includes sleeper picks that are somewhat under the radar. This can be due to their recently improved production as compared to weaker performances in weeks prior or a prominent offensive role that hasn't quite resulted in big fantasy numbers. Here are five sleepers to consider in Week 5 of the 2024 fantasy football season.
Fantasy Football Sleepers: Week 5

#1 - Darnell Mooney
Darnell Mooney is surprisingly leading the Atlanta Falcons in receiving yards through the first four weeks of the 2024 season. He has outperformed both Drake London and Kyle Pitts, though both of them get much more attention in fantasy football. Mooney is quietly having a strong year and gets a favorable Week 5 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' struggling pass defense.

#2 - Diontae Johnson
Diontae Johnson has exploded for massive production in each of the past two weeks for the Carolina Panthers. He has benefited the most from Andy Dalton replacing Bryce Young as their starting quarterback. Johnson has recorded 15 receptions on 27 targets for 205 yards and two touchdowns and is quickly climbing the wide receiver rankings this year.
#3 - Bucky Irving
Bucky Irving began the 2024 fantasy football season as a clear RB2 behind Rachaad White for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, his efficiency and explosiveness resulted in their backfield being more of a split. Irving is trending up after receiving just one fewer touch than White in Week 4 and the rookie has also finished among the top 25 weekly running backs in each of the past two games.
#4 - Tee Higgins
Tee Higgins opened the 2024 fantasy football season by missing each of the first two games for the Cincinnati Bengals. He has been quietly busy in both of the games that he has appeared in and has been receiving a significant workload. The veteran has been targeted 16 times, so he could be in line for a breakout game against a shaky Baltimore Ravens passing defense.
#5 - Chuba Hubbard
Chuba Hubbard has also seen his overall production take off since the Panthers made a QB change to Dalton. He has finished as the weekly RB5 and RB6 in his two games since Young was officially benched. Hubbard has accumulated a massive 39 touches for 290 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, making him one of the top sleepers this week.
