Garrett Wilson vs Brandon Aiyuk: Who should you start?
Garrett Wilson fantasy outlook for Week 1
There's a very real case to be made for Garrett Wilson as this year's fantasy WR1. Despite being arrested and handcuffed, Tyreek Hill showed up and balled out against the Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium yesterday but Garrett Wilson is different gravy and Aaron Rodgers is a man on a mission.
Last year, Wilson had 95 catches for 1,042 yards and three touchdowns on 168 targets. And that's without having Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback. In most weeks, it won't matter what matchup Wilson has. The Jets are well-positioned to make the most of Wilson's alpha status in that WR room. Add to that the fact that the Niners secondary isn't the most watertight in the league and you're looking at a feast for Wilson on Monday Night Football.
All things considered, this looks like a breakout year for the young Jets playmaker.
Our (free) 'Who Should I Start' tool projects a return of nearly 18 points for Wilson this week.
Brandon Aiyuk fantasy outlook for Week 1
It's been an eventful offseason for Brandon Aiyuk. A four-year, $120 million extension was enough to keep the WR in town despite multiple flirtations with the Steelers and the Commanders over the past few months.
In any case, Aiyuk will be raring to go when the Niners line up against the Jets tonight. But there's a few factors to consider when it comes to Aiyuk's projected fantasy points.
1] He hasn't been on the field all offseason so he could be a little rusty tonight.
2] Aiyuk will likely go up against Sauce Gardner, who is arguably among the best in the business.
Garrett Wilson vs Brandon Aiyuk final verdict
All things considered, Aiyuk is more likely to find things a little difficult against the Jets.
The Jets have been projected as a top-5 defense all offseason and they very well could be a top-3 defense too. Our Start/Sit tool projects a return of 12 points for Aiyuk tonight, but Wilson should be your man, today, tomorrow, and every week in fantasy football.
