The New York Jets acquired Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this year. The star pass rusher was initially excited by the move to New York, and it was expected that he would sign a new deal with the franchise.

Unfortunately, both parties failed to reach a common ground in negotiations, and Reddick didn't show up to the team's training camp. As per reports, he has been fined over $1 million so far for missing the camp.

Jordan Schultz recently reported that Reddick has now officially requested a trade from the Jets. He is now close to leaving the team before playing a single snap for them. This is a big blow for the Jets, who now have to find a replacement for the 29-year-old star with less than a month left for the new season.

#1. Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are a Super Bowl contender, and will likely make a push to acquire Haason Reddick. As per Spotrac, the Lions currently have $40.2 million in cap space and will have $52.6 million next year.

They can easily take on Reddick's contract and offer him a new deal. The star pass rusher could agree on a deal around the two-year $50 million mark, and there will be many teams that can offer him that. The Lions have the chance of pairing him up with Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport to further strengthen their grip in the NFC.

#2. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are another team that could afford Reddick. They are projected to have over $25 million in cap space next year and can bolster their defense by trading for him.

If the Jaguars add Reddick alongside Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker, and Erik Armstead, then they will make things tough for the Houston Texans in the AFC South. Reddick is coming off a season in which he had 29 solo tackles, nine assists, and 11.0 sacks in 17 games.

#3. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers already have one of the best defenses in the NFL. But based on their salary cap situation, they can make more moves. As per Spotrac, the Steelers are projected to have $89.6 million in cap space next year.

Haason Reddick has a non-guaranteed base salary of $14.25 million this year, and the Steelers can afford him if they fail in their pursuit of Brandon Aiyuk. The addition of Reddick will reduce the pressure on T.J. Watt, and that could allow the latter to stay healthy.

The Steelers now also have better quarterbacks in Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. Due to this, they have the luxury to make a splash on a player like Reddick to go all-in for the Super Bowl.

#4. Arizona Cardinals

Haason Reddick began his career with the Arizona Cardinals, and there's now a chance that he could rejoin them. The Cardinals can easily meet his contract demands, and considering they have a young roster, adding a player of Reddick's caliber would be very beneficial.

Moreover, head coach Jonathan Gannon will get an opportunity to reunite with Reddick, with whom he worked in Philadelphia. If the 29-year-old is looking for only money and not the Super Bowl, then the Cardinals will be a great option for him.

#UPDATE: The Jets have rejected Reddick's trade proposal and are adamant about keeping him on the roster. The AFC East franchise has warned that player that he will continue to get fined if he doesn't report to the team.
