Famous St. Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner hung up his cleats in 2010 after 12 great years in the NFL.

Kurt Warner is, without a doubt, one of the best quarterbacks in league history, even though he wasn't even given the chance to make his first start until he was 28 years old.

As one of the most remarkable Cinderella tales in NFL history, Warner's journey, which saw him go from being an undrafted rookie to a two-time MVP, is acclaimed.

Warner played collegiate football for Northern Iowa from 1990 through 1993. However, he missed out on getting picked to an NFL squad for four years during that time. He was acquired by the Green Bay Packers in 1994 but cut before the season opener. Warner gained his first NFL spot on the roster in 1998 with the Rams, retaining a reserve role until he was pressed into being St. Louis's starting QB the season after.

In the 1999 preseason, when starter Trent Green suffered a knee injury, Warner took over as the team's starting QB and guided the Rams to an astonishing comeback. He topped the NFL in passing accuracy and quarterback rating that year, as the Rams won 13 matches.

Warner was awarded the NFL’s MVP, and the Rams progressed to a spot in the Super Bowl. He was voted the Super Bowl MVP after tossing for a Super Bowl-record 414 yards there as the Rams downed the Tennessee Titans 23-16 to win the team's first championship.

Warner is the only undrafted passer to help his team to a Super Bowl triumph. He is the only undrafted player to be voted NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP.

How many Super Bowls did Kurt Warner play in?

In his tenure, Kurt Warner participated in three Super Bowl games. He did take the Rams to the Championship Game on two counts, winning and losing one each. His performance in his debut season as a starter was enough to bring the Rams into the playoffs and win over the Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999.

Warner's second championship game came in 2002, when the New England Patriots beat the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.

Warner lost another Super Bowl (2008 season) with the Arizona Cardinals against Pittsburgh Steelers, giving him an overall Super Bowl mark of 1-2.
