Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg relationship timeline explored

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his fiancee Dana Blumberg tied the knot in a surprise ceremony today. The new power couple have been together for some time now. While it is unclear how and when they met, they were first seen together at an Elton John AIDS foundation event in 2017. She then posed with one of Robert Kraft's Super Bowl rings.

They reportedly began publicly dating in 2019. They made their first public appearance as a couple the same year at that year's French Open tennis. The couple were seen at other events in Paris, such as the Women's Soccer World Cup final.

The pair have kept their relationship mostly private. Designer Tommy Hilfiger broke the news of their engagement in March 2022 at the inaugural amfAR Gala Palm Beach event. Adhering to the theme of keeping their relationship to themselves, they have now tied the knot in a ceremony that was a secret to most of the world, including the attendees.

Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg invited their friends and family to a “Kickoff and a Touchdown” party at the Hall des Lumières in lower Manhattan. All the guests were told was to dress smartly, but no other indications were given of their planned nuptials.

When the guests arrived, they watched a moving 10-minute video. Next, the couple was announced in front of around 250 guests by NFL announcer Al Michaels as husband and wife. Based on reported sources, they had planned this entire wedding in the space of three weeks.

Sir Elton John’s recent “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough saw both Robert Kraft and Dana Blumberg meet him backstage. The singer spotted Blumberg's wedding ring and asked when they were planning to get married. During the discussion, Elton John mentioned that he would like to play when they tied the knot.

Guests at the bash apart from Elton John included singers like Ed Sheeran and Meek Mill. Ed Sheeran played an acoustic number to which the couple had their first dance. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was present. As were several players (former and present), including Tom Brady, Drew Bledsoe, and other New England Patriots teammates.

For Robert Kraft, this is his second marriage. His first wife, Myra, passed away in 2011 after a battle with cancer. They were married for 48 years. He has made numerous donations to medical research inspired by her.

Dr. Dana Blumberg is a New York-based board-certified ophthalmologist. She specializes in vision care and glaucoma. She worked as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University as well as the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Blumberg received her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in May 2000.
