Bryce Young has been the talk of the town for the Carolina Panthers amid their training camp after being named QB1 for the 2024 season. Now, fans are curious to learn whether the quarterback will feature in the Panthers' opening game of the preseason against the New England Patriots.
Earlier this week, the Panthers confirmed that Young will not play any part in Carolina's Week 1 preseason game against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Thursday. However, the player is not injured.
In a statement, the Panthers said Young would sit out the preseason game against New England to avoid risking a potential injury. Panthers coach Dave Canales also expressed concern about the young quarterback.

"You can't play scared", Canales said. "But you've got to be smart, and so yeah, it's a factor for sure. We're thinking about that. With the guys we're counting on, we're definitely taking that into consideration here."

While Young will not suit up for the Panthers on Thursday, his backup Andy Dalton is nursing a quad injury.
This means that Jack Plummer and the recently signed Jake Luton will share the quarterback duties against the Patriots in the preseason opener. Kickoff for the game is at 7 p.m. EDT.
The Panthers vs. Patriots preseason clash will not be broadcast live on national TV. However, fans in New England can catch the game on the Patriots Preseason Television Network. Also, Carolina locals can watch the game on WJZY.
The Panthers vs. Patriots game can also be live streamed on NFL Network or Fubo.
Bryce Young will want to show improvement in 2024 after challenging rookie season

The Carolina Panthers selected Bryce Young with the top pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, the quarterback struggled to adapt to the league in his rookie season.
Young threw for 2,877 yards on 315 passes with 11 touchdowns across 16 starts. He also threw 10 interceptions as Carolina finished with the league's worst record at 2-15.
After a challenging rookie season, Young will want to prove his doubters wrong in 2024.
