Chris Olave has been a topic of discussion for the New Orleans Saints ahead of their Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Earlier this week, the wideout said he was considering wearing a guardian cap after sustaining a concussion in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Following Olave's comments, fans have been curious to know whether he will play against the Panthers on Sunday.
Is Chris Olave playing today vs. Panthers?
Barring any late injury or setback, Chris Olave will suit up to play against the Panthers in Week 9. The wideout has kept away from the Saints injury report this week and is active to play on Sunday.
Olave had suffered a concussion in the game against the Buccaneers on Oct. 13. He then missed the Saints' Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos but cleared the concussion protocol to return to action against the LA Chargers in Week 8.
On Thursday, Olave said he was considering wearing a guardian cap for the game against the Panthers on Sunday. The cap acts as padding and is worn over the helmet to potentially reduce the risk of concussions and head injuries for NFL players.
"I'm still considering it. I was considering last game, ended up going with the regular helmet," Olave said.
This season, Olave has tallied 387 yards on 31 receptions and caught a touchdown across seven games. The Saints will aim to build on those numbers in the coming weeks.
