Three landing spots for Damien Harris

Here are three solid landing spots for Damien Harris as he looks to continue his NFL career. Note that this list is in no particular order.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With the departure of Leonard Fournette, there is a gaping hole in the Tampa Bay backfield. While Rachaad White saw an increased role in the Bucs' offense in 2022, the general consensus is that he's not a bruising running back. Damien Harris is an expert in that style of play and could add some much-needed grit to the Buccaneers.

Harris could serve as a short-area specialist and be the primary goal-to-go back for the Bucs, while White will be the dynamic, receiving, and change-of-pace RB for the offense. If Harris can stay fit, Tampa Bay will be primed to be one of the best fits for his skillset.

2. Los Angeles Chargers

Austin Ekeler's impending trade has changed the climate in Los Angeles, and the Chargers are unlikely to find a running back as good as him in the open market. You cannot replace 3,195 yards from scrimmage in two years with just anyone. Add 38 touchdowns to that total, and you will see just how daunting the task of replacing Austin Ekeler is for the Chargers.

They can start by signing Damien Harris for free and pair him with either a rookie running back or a second-year pro in Isaiah Spiller. It would take a two-man effort to replace Ekeler's productivity, but Harris would be an intelligent signing and a good step in that direction.

3. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith loves a rushing, focused attack similar to what he was a part of with Tennessee Titans. Adding a proven bruising running back like Harris could prove to be a masterstroke. The Falcons currently have a mixture of youth and experience in their backfield. With regard to youth, there's 2022 breakout star Tyler Allgeier, who surpassed 1,000 yards last season. Then there's the proven veteran, Cordarrelle Patterson, who is a decent receiving threat but won't be able to take any major hits at this stage of his career.

Damien Harris could act as the bridge running back for the Falcons. He could relieve unnecessary rushing reps for the incumbent backs and act as a decoy for the older Cordarrelle Patterson. This addition could do wonders for a rebuilding Falcons team and come at an affordable price.
