Davante Adams joined the New York Jets in a mid-season trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. The addition of Adams was widely considered a potential game-changer for the Jets, who have not had the most ideal start to the Aaron Rodgers era.
However, despite signing the perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver, the Jets have lost two straight games. They were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7 and the New England Patriots in Week 8. Ahead of their Week 9 showdown versus the Houston Texans on Thursday, let's take a look at Adams' availability.

Is Davante Adams playing tonight?
Yes, Davante Adams is playing in tonight's game against the Houston Texans. The Fresno State product did not appear on the Jets' injury report leading up to their Thursday Night Football game. Thus, barring any unforeseen scenarios, he'll be starting against the Texans.

While Adams is all but guaranteed to appear, the Jets are dealing with an array of injury issues. Tony Adams, Ashtyn Davis, Leki Fotu, Allen Lazard, C.J. Mosley and Alijah Vera-Tucker missed Tuesday's practice session, and they've since been ruled out of Thursday night's game. Also, Chazz Surratt, Morgan Moses and Kenny Yeboah are listed as questionable to play.
Furthermore, star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is dealing with knee and hamstring issues. This could threaten to derail his chemistry with Adams and the rest of his wide receivers as the season passes the halfway mark.
How has Davante Adams performed in 2024?
Davante Adams has had a mixed 2024 season. The superstar wide receiver started the season on the Raiders and dealt with a lack of quality targets and injury issues. The Raiders lacked an elite quarterback, shuffling between Gardner Minshew and Aiden O'Connell.
Adams made it clear early in the season that he wanted out of Las Vegas. His wish was granted on Oct. 15, when he was traded to the New York Jets for draft compensation. Thus, he joined Aaron Rodgers, with whom he had great personal success at the Green Bay Packers.
Adams has amassed a stat line of 25 receptions, 293 receiving yards and one touchdown for the season. He looks well off the pace to earn his customary 1,000+ receiving yards season, and with the way the Jets are playing, he'll almost certainly miss this season's playoffs.
