Is Davante Adams playing today? Raiders WR's status revealed for game vs Browns

Davante Adams' availability became a recurrent topic this week, as the Las Vegas Raiders prepare to host the Cleveland Browns at Allegiant Stadium this Sunday. Coming off a surprising 36-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Antonio Pierce and company are keen to bounce back at home.

Unfortunately, the Raiders will be without Adams due to his hamstring injury. If this was already terrible for Las Vegas, they will have five more players inactive for this game, starting with defensive cornerstone Maxx Crosby.

Malcolm Koonce, Thayer Munford, Divine Deablo, and Michael Mayer were all ruled out by Antonio Pierce for this matchup. The Raiders were upset by the Panthers in Andy Dalton's first game replacing Bryce Young, who was benched after 18 games.

The Raiders put on a show in Week 2, upsetting the No. 1 seed in the AFC last year, the Baltimore Ravens, 26-23. They couldn't keep things going and succumbed to one of the worst teams in the league, unable to move the ball down the field or find consistency all game long.

Davante Adams caught four passes for 40 yards. He was added to the injury report on Thursday after not being included on Wednesday or in the prior three weeks.

Davante Adams' future might be out of Las Vegas

During his years with the Las Vegas Raiders, Davante Adams has been linked with a move away from the team. He has rejected those rumors over and over again, but the 31-year-old wide receiver could still find his way to a contender before the 2024 NFL trade deadline strikes next month.

According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, the wideout is not actively trying to leave the team, but if they fall out of contention, the situation could change.

He signed a five-year, $140 million deal with the Raiders in 2022, meaning he has two years left on his contract. His money isn't guaranteed in the next two seasons, which could lead teams to try to lure him away from Allegiant Stadium.

A reunion with Aaron Rodgers is likely, per Graziano, but we still have to sit and wait for how the season develops for Adams and the Raiders. If they lose to Cleveland, they'll go down to 1-3.

Adams, Crosby, and other starters being out for this game can open the door for the Browns to get another win at the expense of the wounded Raiders.
