The Seattle Seahawks have made a surprising decision on Kenneth Walker III's status for the Week 7 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. After a humbling loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the NFC West squad will try to bounce back against Kirk Cousins and team, but Walker has sounded the alarm with the latest update on his health.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Walker was downgraded to questionable ahead of the game. However, Walker will be playing on Sunday vs the Falcons.
The Seahawks will visit Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday and the team could be without a runningback.
Kenneth Walker injury update: What happened to Seahawks star RB?
Kenneth Walker was added to the injury report because of an undisclosed "illness." He wasn't featured on the injury report this week, as the Seahawks ruled out Stone Forsythe for a hand, Tre Brown with an ankle, Riq Woolen with an ankle and Jerrick Reed II has a knee injury.
He's coming off a 14-carry, 32-yard and one-touchdown performance against the 49ers in the game where Seattle fell from the lead of the NFC West division. He's recorded 51 rushing attempts for 234 yards and five touchdowns this season.
ESPN ranks him as the RB4 in the league this week and he is projected to get 14 carries for 63 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. In addition, he's predicted to catch four passes for 27 receiving yards and a production of 18.27 fantasy points.
Following a 3-0 start to the season, the Seahawks dropped three consecutive games. The team needs to start winning again to win the division. The Falcons are trending in the right direction, but the team has been defeated twice at home. Walker and his team need to bring the A-game to be added to the list of teams that have defeated Atlanta at home. Without Walker on the field, that job will be more difficult.
Should I start Kenneth Walker III in fantasy football Week 7?
This might be a risky move, but the fact that he's questionable and not doubtful should give hope to fans and fantasy managers. Of course, whoever is wondering if this is a good move will need to wait until a couple of hours before the game to have a clear picture, but as of right now, Kenneth Walker should still be a starter.
He's one of the four best running backs in the league ahead of Sunday and considering that Chuba Hubbard racked up 92 rushing yards, Walker could be in for a dominant game.
